VISION

VARIO-HAUS VISION – the active passive house

Our vision for the future: to generate more energy that you need

VARIO-HAUS prides itself to be an innovative company. This has been proven by the first prefabricated passive house already in the year 2000, VARIO-HAUS del Sole. Clever architecture and state-of-the-art building techniques resulted in consequent improvements in our construction technology.

About ten years later the show-house VARIO-HAUS Solair near Vienna was equipped with a complete photovoltaic system. Visitors of the show-house park “Blaue Lagune” can check by means of a big board outside the house how much power is produced at the moment, how much power had been produced since the installation and how much money and carbon dioxide had been saved since then.

Towards the end of 2010 VARIO-HAUS introduced new VARIO-HAUS VISION, positioned as the “active passive house” (according to the official PHPP standard). The house has a capacious photovoltaic system on the roof which generates approx. 4,500 kWh power per year. Two thirds of the output is consumed by a four-person-household, the rest can be fed back in the power network or used for a power charging station for e-mobility cars, bikes or motorcycles.

In order that our customers can make best use of their own power charging station we have included an e-bike in the price of the house.

Fittings, decoration, equipment and extras:

  • Air-tight passive house construction concept; walls, ceilings and windows
  • Air – water heat pump with integrated 200 l hot water boiler and floor heating
  • Centrally controlled heat-recovery ventilation
  • Photovoltaic system with 4.6 kWP and power charging station available
  • Available in “Bare-bone house” version, “Flooring and electric, sanitary and heating installations” version and “Turnkey house” version

Note: For exact calculations of your passive house we must have more data than simply our construction data. We must know exactly the conditions of your building site, northern or southern orientation of the house, the wind direction and many factors more. Therefore the floor plans for our passive houses are more or less symbolic.
